Installation Instructions for OntoLing (old versions)

OntoLing Tab Installation Instructions

For OntoLing 2.0 (Protege 3.x)

Installation:

Copy the entire folder it.uniroma2.info.ai-nlp.ontoling inside the plugins directory of Protege
In order to use Ontoling, you must download the Linguistic Watermark package (version 1.0). Then you have to install at least an existing linguistic interface which is compliant with that version of the Watermark

For OntoLing 1.1 (Protege 2.1) and OntoLing 1.1.1 (Protege 3.0) with Wordnet Interface 1.1

In this version of WordnetInterface all JWNL packages have been included in the WordnetInterface distribution, so there is no more need for downloading JWNL.

Installation:

Download and install WordNet.
Download the OntoLing Tab and the Wordnet Interface
Extract the content of both the Ontoling and WordnetInterface distributions (in this exact order, so that OntoLing.properties from WordnetInterface will override the generic OntoLing.properties file from the Ontoling release) into the plugins directory of Protégé
if everything went ok, there should be a directory named it.uniroma2.info.ai-nlp.ontoling inside the plugins directory of Protégé
In file_properties.xml you must specify the path to the "dict" directory of your Wordnet installation (e.g. d:\Linguistic_Resources\WordNet\2.0\dict); this can be done by editing the value attribute of the xml tag:
<param name="dictionary_path" value="D:\Linguistic_Resources\WordNet\2.0\dict" />

For OntoLing 1.0 (Protege 2.0) (with Wordnet Interface)

OntoLing and Wordnet Interface Installation:
- Download the OntoLing Tab and the Wordnet Interface
- Extract OntoLingTab.jar and the OntoLing.properties property file from the binary distribution of OntoLing, then WordnetInterface.jar from the binary distribution of the Wordnet Interface, finally put all of of them into the plugins directory of your Protégé installation directory

Wordnet and JWNL Installation:
- Download and install WordNet.
- Download JWNL (Java Wordnet Library)
- Put the jwnl.jar and common-logging.jar files from JWNL in the plugins directory of Protégé
- Put the file_properties.xml property file of JWNL into the plugins directory of Protégé, specifying the path to the "dict" directory of your Wordnet installation (e.g. d:\Linguistic_Resources\WordNet\2.0\dict), this can be done by editing the value attribute of the xml tag:
